hey i got an idea from the adam and eve thing. Tell me what you think of this idea...
Adam was the Merovingian...
Eve was Persiphone...
there children were cain and abel, that is why they are always at a place close to persiphone and the merovingian(because they are there parents)
i dont no who the snake was? Possibly the Oracle(Showing them what was really there?)
Or maybe it was the other way around and Persiphone was the Snake, being the one who convinced them all of "Just a Sample, a little taste", but then if that were true, who would the Eve be?
Any ideas?
Also if it was that adam and eve were the first one's, then not being able to see "the truth" was another form of control and the first form of control.

Eve became a rapper/actress.

I like this for ONE reason. It precludes Meranguey from being a former One, a suggestion that I've never been comfortable with.

Persiphone states (of the boys) that "They are from a much older version of the matrix", however I don't beleive there is any indication that she was.

I think that would make more sense than the Merovingian being a former One. Do you think that the machines tested their "imperfect" matrix first on simulated humans, thus creating the Merovingians to beta test the Green World Matrix?

Bingo! I think Merovingian is NOT a previous version of "the One", but simply an Adam-like program from the Paradisaic First matrix. Exactly what his function was is unclear to me, but one of my hypothesis is this:

Neo is the latest version of "the One". What is his purpose? According to the prophecy its to save humans. According to the Architect its to sort of upgrade the Matrix. What if his purpose is both and somehow at the same time allow humans and machines to co-exist in peace? Apparently, the previous "Ones" werent able to do that.

Merovingian is said to have once been similar to Neo- but he isnt a "One". He seems to scorn the "One" as a simple robot who has no choice but to do as he is meant to- "cause and effect"; and he speaks of Neo's predecessors in such a way that he is removed from being grouped with them. But, if he "was like" Neo, perhaps in the first Matrix, his function was to similarly help humans and machines to co-exist, except that humans rejected both the Matrix and himself.

I am not tied to this theory, its just a musing.
