Towards the end of REVOLUTIONS, everything is Smith... meaning even the Architect has been "Smithed"--like Seraph and Oracle...

So Smith is NOW the SOURCE... right?

And to Smith goes Neo--initially to fight--but when Neo realizes it's the Source all around, he "disseminates" himself/code into the Smith which is now also the Source, AND, the "prime program" is reinserted ;--)

This depends on the Brothers understanding (and expression) of how computers (and software) work.

Source code is what programs are produced from, it is usually a collection of algorythms in a static format and is actually data more than it is code.

When programs are produced (the source is compiled or interpretted), the result is called Object Code. This is the executabe that you run or the support libraries that it runs (.exe, .dll, .ocx etc.)

What is produced is the Object Code, the source remains the source.

Problems in the Object code are remedied in the source. This is analogous to the way the source is described in the films

When a software patch is applied (service pack, update etc.), this is the object code being modified in it's "running" form, ultimately this is less desirable than a fresh build from the source, but may be more practical.

So while Smith may be a patched version of his former self, he cannot be considered the source - The source is never active.

the architect is not the source. the architect is the architect. the source is the machine mainframe.

Ok so even if the Source is not the same as the Architect, do you think that the Architect too was infected by Smith?

The architect lived in a little room that was hidden away from the matrix proper with clever doors. From the universe image we see when we go to his room, he was probably in the machine city. I doubt that Smith would have been able to get to him. In time, however, he would break in and the architect would be the first to go once smith got himself out and loose.
