Female agents would definitely be more efficient. They could use "sex as a weapon". Whitelaugh

Unfortunately no one can be told what The Matrix is...You have to see it for yourself.

Agents are Archetypal bad guys. Therefore, they should be male. Althought there could be female programs that work for the Machines, they would be something else.

Female villians are typically seductresses, i.e. Persephone.

Agents are supposed to be "cookie-cutter", bland, stalwart-citizen like characters; 'typical characters; i.e. White, Brown hair, clean-cut, suit, sunglasses, Anglo-saxon names like Smith, Brown, Thompson, and MALE.

A female agent would stand out, defeating the whole "cookie-cutter" look.

Female villians are just usually some sort of seductress.

I voted "no". Why would the computer behind The Matrix make female agents? They are not good enough, and male agents is stronger. I think...

sort of applicable is this quote

"do you think my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles...in this place"

agents are merely shells...the shells themselves have no bearing on the power/speed of them...it is the programmes they contain that do

That may be so... BUT this is The Matrix we're talking about here - Female Agents can be just as 'perfect' as Male... Cool

I like the way you think Another Smith.

Females can be just as good Agents as males... probably better!

I sure as hell could kick some male agent arse If mister doesn't shut up then I tell mister what I think of him (But of course I would never do that to dear Smith. No, no, no.)

-Demile

Agent Thompson: You!
Agent Smith: Yes, me.
Agent Smith turns Thompson into Agent Smith
Agent Smith: Me... Me... Me?
Agent Smith #2: Me too.

I think a female Agent might be good just because of moral issues that would follow...I mean....you cant beat a woman....thats just not right...

Hmmm...but if a ''Agent Candy'' was to be introduce in maybe Matrix 4 or animatrix 2 I hope they don't make it about ''Girl Power'' I get alerges when I hear ''Girl Power'' Mentioned. Don't get me wrong I am all for equal rights and stuff but man....so many feminists here (Iceland) misinterpret what feminism is about and state that Woman are better then man, not equal....

P.S I was going to write Agent Cindy but accidently wrote Candy....which sound much better. Whitelaugh

Agent: A Candy...Agent Candy.

Personally I think females would make better agents.

1. They can be just as good as the men
2. They have the added advantage of using charm and seduction
3. Some chauvinistic men will assume they have the upper hand... then Whamo!
4. Women are equal in all aspects of the Matrix, it is logical to assume there are female agents too, just none that featured in the trilogy
5. Women Agents = Sexy and dangerous. Very Happy

(and 6, for the ladies.. women agents rule because we get first shot at men agents! yum yum, pass a Smith clone!)

I want to be an Agent of the Matrix when I grow up...

I'd be interested to see how the answers changed on this poll if it were phrased "would you LIKE to see female agents in further matrix stories". Initially I was thinking the bias towards "no" was due to sexism and that perhaps the extremist feminists were right after all (note "extremist"). Then I realised that many of those "no"'s will be because (i) there won't be any more matrix movies (ii) the wachowskis haven't had any female agents yet so why would they add them in now? (iii) little point of my own - the women turn into male agents for goodness sake!

I think female agents would be great, but I think that the chances of the Wachowskis or the comic book writers adding them in is pretty unlikely. Missed opportunity for all of them I say! Wink
