Hey, Nocturnal..youre still young, eh? i know thats the age when you still believe in fairytales such as love, and its great.. but to me true love is just a myth.

and the feelings we all share for our families and friends is more like an affection, cant really be called love.

You don't demonstarate affection to someone you dislike.
Love can be demonstrated in many ways...

You are talking about the media interpretation of LOVE. This is idea of love is a hoax - i agree - but there is a kind of platonic love which is just as strong. You don't need to want to sleep with someone to care about them strongly. Often this kind of love is mutual but it doesn't always need to be.

The way I see it, true love is a mixture of this strong mutual platonic love and erotic attraction. You can erotic attration without feeling a strong love for them. But real love is real regardless of sex. I think the real problem with relationships is that sexual desires change and betray even if platonic love stays true. It seems that everlasting love cannot sexual.

and according to dictionary.com and thesaurus.com, love is a synonym of affection....so they're basically the same thing.

and if love doesnt exist...i wonder why so many of those so called fairytales or hollywood themes are about love?

passion is what brings confusion into people's lives... sometimes they think they've fallen in love and then they realize it was nothing but passion...
as for everlasting love, i agree it can only be the platonic kind, cos how can you be sexually attracted to someone for years?

There can be the greatest of confusion especially surrounding the words LOVE, PASSION and LUST. Then there is actually WANTING someone and NEEDING someone: it can be extremely confusing...
