[Matrix 1] Agent Smith (hearing the coming subway): "Do you hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability."

Okay, so we all get the Biblical allusions to Christ that is Neo. BUT! Christ dies and is reborn and goes to heaven, while the anti-Christ is reborn but stays on Earth, as Neo is "reborn" outside of the Matrix. This would support the "machines are actually the good guys" theory....

True. I've seen several attempts in movies (think Omega Code and Miggedo) that try to explain the end times. They leave out, like ice said, the Rapture, in which believers are taken up to heaven to be with Christ, as well as the judgments of tribulation (like ice said, the world as we know it falling apart) I do think however that the assumption of Neo as Antichrist is more correct than saying he is symbolic of Christ. In other words, he fits the description of Antichrist as far as I can see (of course he'd have to beborn in Romania and things like that, but anyway) except that he ruled in the wrong time period (before the Rapture). That would also explain is undoubtedly immoral living as well as his death and resurrection. This is exactly what Antichrist is prophesied to do in order to fool billions into believing he is Christ (hmmm sound familar?) Remember this is just a movie, so any relation he might have to any character of the Bible is purely symbolic. IT'S NOT REAL.
