Machine God's meaning?

Where did the name of the Machine god come from? I have never heard it said in the movies. Please fill me in, thanks.

Anyways Deus Ex has a meaning, and doesnt just sound cool. Deus in latin is "God", and Ex in biblical terms is "Exodus". So what exactly is God Exodus supposed to mean or symbolise?

Dues Ex is short for Dues Ex Machina, a term used for a machine that made people fly in Elizabethan theater. (god from the machine).

i don't think the think with the face was a Machine God, but just an emmisary from 01. anyway, God is five letters shorter than Emmisary, and it looks cooler, too.
