i was thinking about this the other day...were Brown and Jones upgraded into Thompson and Jackson (with Johnson added to replace Smith) or were they deleted and replaced with the upgrades?

or, were they always around and we just didn't see them? after all, Jackson knew Smith, right?

I think they were deleted and replaced, in both movies we see that the system only seems to have 3 agents at a time ... if they had more why wouldnt they use more?
So because the first group were scared off by Neo, the system deleted them and wrote a new set of bigger badder 3 agents to fight Neo this time. (I guess the old agents could also just be in exile sipping on pinacoladas in florida)
I have yet to see anywhere that the system is able to upgrade and change its programs, it can only write new ones.

Actually, we're in Puerto Plata. It's quite nice.

I like this idea of an exiled agent. That would have been something to see. Let's see if it happens in the comix.
