Many are questioning the W brother's failure to give us answers to tough matrix questions.
i think the reason for this is that they relied on us,
their audience, to bring a certain amount of previous knowledge about the religious undertones of the films to the theater with us.
Anyone familiar with literature can spot that neo is a
"Christ -like-figure" ... this is nothing new... it's been used as a literary device countless times (the guy in green mile whose name is
John Coffee (jc for jesus christ) is an example, and King Arthur is another).
To explain Neo's power, you just have to take this Christ character concept one step further... Jesus (all of this is according to common Christian beliefs) was both a man and part of the Holy Trinity.... he saw physical things as well a spiritual reality... in this sense, if neo was supposed to be similar to Jesus, he would have this same amazing second sight... in this case spiritual sight is replaced with neo's second site.... like Jesus, neo can manipulate spiritual things and physical things ... just the spirit is presented as electronic.
I also saw something interesting in the "death" of neo... his death is fitting, in keeping with the Christ parrallels, but i think the W's threw in another literary reference when neo was placed on the floating machine. In the book "The Death of Arthur" (this is the masterpiece story of king arthur and camelot) , king arthur is impaled my mortimer, his son, and is on the verge of death. He is then placed on a barge piloted by mythical women who, according to legend, take arthur to an island called Avalon, where he will someday return when England needs him.
like i mentioned earlier, neo is a christ-figure and so is arthur, and i think the w's were trying to make this connection when they place him on the "barge" and leave us hanging as to his fate. I also thought i saw the female character from the animatrix in the glow of neo at the end... something to look for if you see it again. btw, the book's title is the death of arthur, but the book itself is very inclonclusive as to the fate of arthur. so, in conclusion, neo is like jesus and so he kicks butt on multiple levels and is like arthur so he'll be back later when he's needed. word.
