Look at the movie 'Troy', now we all know what kind of massive changes were made there, and yet at the end of the movie it still says 'inspired by The Iliad.' Now if Wolfgang Petersen had come out and said 'oh this whole movie was my idea', people certainly wouldn't be saying it's his just because he invested his time and effort into the movie.
Not a good example. "inspired by" doesnt mean you stole anything. So what you actually mention, is an "escape" for the Wachowskis. They could say "ok we got inspired" by Sophias text and be off the hook. Also , there are no copyright for mythology...

Now granted neither Stroker or 'Homer' would be coming around to sue the studio/directors, but my point is even if it's only the idea stolen, the author/originator should be given credit.
I understand what you say. I've looked in to it, and the law says that "ideas" cannot be copyrighted.

Like I said I'm not on her side yet, but I think it's wrong and hypocritical for people to be attacking her because she wasn't involved in the movies because you should be attacking a lot of other people as well.
But you forget that other people would have even more "reason" to sue for other stuff too. But they dont. Doesnt this seem a liiiitle weird to you?

my mother is in her early 50s and has NEVER seen any of The Terminator movies. I have a friend (21) who has never seen Spiderman or Lord of the Rings, another friend who has never seen The Godfather, so it's possible.
1.Is your mother a writer?
2.Is your mother in any way an art person, or related to the film industry?
3.Did your mother write? Did she devote hundreds of hours writing about a sci-fi story?
4.Did she went out to copyright a story she wrote?
5.Did she send any of it to anyone?

I guess not. So "your mother" being 51 and not having seen the terminator, says nothing. Several people havent seen the terminator. So what. We're talking about a specific kind of person here with all the above things. So its HIGHLY improbable (right next to impossible) ,that a person as described above, would not have seen the Terminator.

Especialy in YEARS and YEARS (and sequels). Lets be realistic.

I'm sorry but I'm going with the Wachowski's on this one.

Can you tell me where to find these two pages you are referring to, are they pages 17 and 19, if so what happened to page 18, I think to some degree, something must be true, like she sent them the script she wrote, but they only thought that her concept was a good idea, why can't I take someone's concept and turn it into my own story. What about the fact that one of the brothers was 18 in high school and the other was 21, in 1986?
