Yes, i have to agree. While the 3rd installment of the Matrix was a marvel of Digi-FX, the story destroyed everything the 2 previous parts worked so hard to build. Only thing left to do now is keep on walking... or is it?

What if a team of dedicated Matrix fans, master story-tellers and creative writers came together to produce the real part 3. It can be titled "Waking up" and can start off exactly where the 2nd part left off. The whole 3rd part as we know it was a dream. A dream Neo had while in the coma. Now he awakens. He tries to follow the dream, but finds out that reality is not as simple...

We write the script and if nothing else, make it into a story that may give all the Matrix fans out there the answers they were looking for. Given a bit of luck we may even see the script go further...

I've kind of been writing a replacement screenplay in my head since before I left the theater.

...but I don't think I would make Revolutions a dream. Just pretend it never happened, and go from there.

Anyone think they can edit the third matrix to make it more suited to their expectations? Like they did with the Phantom Edit for SW Episode 1...

How would YOU rearrange it?

I don't think you could do it be editing; too much needs to be changed or added.

I think it would be possible to combine Reloaded and Revolutions into one ~2.5-hour movie, though.

Lysander,

Not sure which parts I'd take out to make it into one movie - everything seems related (even the boring speech in reloaded when they were looking at the engineering deck of Zion ended up being the whole point of why they used the APUs to fight the squids). Something that I wouldn't have a problem doing with KillBill for example (talk...about....slow)

Should be fascinating reading the original script, though (not the fan transcript) Did they ever release that for reloaded? or the original Matrix for that matter?

THE BEGINNING

You are born, you have life, and death comes : The trilogy of LIFE. I know the Matrix has an individual effect on each person who can try to understand it , like the Bible. The matrix consists of Love,Choice and Fete. You need to focus on what gift of knowledge the matrix has given you....Don't expect something which your mind has create to overwhelm yourself with mind bogling ending sometimes the simple things tell more than you can handle. A person in one and one is a individual person "YOU" your choice, your Love and your fete.

THE END

I am all for people playing around with ideas for more matrix films. Sometimes very normal people can have very good ideas. Here is the thing. Thoughout this web site I continueally come across people who say matrix fans need to do a movie, write it, ect... The fact is matrix fans (for the most part) dont know anything about story telling or film making. Just give up on it if you think matrix fans are the ones who need to make a film. The fact is there most likely wont be another film, at least not by the bros. but if there were to be one the last thing one would want to do is have it written or conceptualized by anything more then a casual fan. Its fine to dream up ideas and is something well to be expected. Just dont go off thinking that any fan or group of fans has any right to make a film. Leave the film making to the filmmakers. There are alot of great ideas out there but many of them are too far reaching for a movie and/or thought up by those who have no concept of film making.

Now that I have said that have fun with you ideas. Let them fill up the pages of this web site. And there may be those out there who are casual fans who have created scripts or treatments that are good. In fact the ony attached "4th Matrix?" is very good, but the writer was no die hard fan. That is that way it should be.

I did a video component in my Bachelor of visual arts, and have at least an understanding of what good directing and editing takes. I think you're wrong here -- it's not so much that fanz don't know anything or can't do films, it's the level of storytelling. I've seen plenty of fanfiction of different types over the years -- Trek, Xena, Dr Who, et cetera, and the results vary, from absolutely terrible to quite good. But there's little consistency in the final result.
