In the matrix 1 & 2 they use Rage against the machine for the closing song for the movies... The name rage against the machine is goes with the movie....The people of zion have rage against the machines and they come to peace with them in revolutions and they don't use rage against the machine's music at the end of the movie. Even some of the song's lyrics in the first movie go with the movie "...Networks at work, keepin' people calm.." The matirx is at work, keeping the people jacked in from knowing the truth..

I think this was said before, not sure though.
The reason is they need music to fit with the film, every film does, so thats why it fits.

Hi...I think your wrong about the music. Larry W said in Sky News for Movies last month that Rage gives him a headache and he much prefers the classical music composed by Don Davis. That is why they dedicated the third album solely to DOn Davis. Check it out in the sky movie sites.

That Don Davis stuff was just as incredible as a lot of the stuff that you see in the movie...It fit the mood PERFECTLY, and conjures images of the matrix in my head every time I hear the barest hint of it...

Well, after listening to Neodammerung in the M3 soundtrack (the chorus/orchestral piece during the "Super Burly Brawl"), I had a couple ideas, though some might just be wishful thinking:

1) I read online the lyrics are taken from the Hindu Upanishads, and reading the translations, many are about immortality, others about faith in the One, others about faith over reason.

2) The meter of it is 7/8 (bpm is assumed), meaning 7 beats per measure. This, to a pop audience watching the movies, sounds almost erratic and out of whack, so why have this in a flowing choreographed battle scene? My thought is 7 is the number most-representing immortality (see Christian books: Revelation and Gospels).

3) The bass line of this piece is a recurring theme, first audible in M1 on the way to see the Oracle as the melody. It is a minor form VERY similar, almost identical, to the bass line at the start of a very famous orchestral piece: The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's "Messiah". Wait a second, am I saying Neo is like Jesus? NO WAY!

Ah, but again, these are neat to me, but I'd talk to Don Davis before proclaiming genious. It still rocks though.

On a side note, I just really think the last track, the end credits, sums up one theme of the entire movie really brilliantly. Don Davis' symphony of sound with the beats of modern electronica or whatever that is. Art and entertainment successfully mixed in the music, just like the entire premise of the trilogy. Come to think or come to be awed, something for everyone

"Woah." -Neo

I think I've been reading too many postings today cos its starting to "bake my noodle"

I read in another forum on this site that some believe there will be another film and that Reloaded and Revolutions are infact two parts of the same film, similar to "Kill Bill". Isn't it interesting that ONE album came out with two CD's in it which cover two films.

Mmm
