This may have been said before (I haven't noticed it yet) but does the Architect every say that Zion has been destroyed before? Here it is...

Yes but grammar dictates it is to replace the last used noun. The last used noun the Architect used was Denial, the emotion. This is actually surprisingly sound if I do say so myself as the previous One's still could exist. Maybe Zion never was destroyed but every One so far just hasn't been known about. Viz a viz, the denial of the previous Ones has been destroyed as they were removed.

Now I look at it, it doesn't seem so good. But put your views up, I might be wrong.

Concerning the Star Wars homage: the allusion of course to Darth Vader's line "It is our Destiny!" in Laurence Fishburne's speech (he almost seems to be deliberately imitating the intonation of James Earl Jones in the line) I have to admit was rather jarring when I saw "Reloaded" for the first time. Did anyone else feel the same way?

For the topic from the Twins, you have to wonder of course if the ambiguity in the pronoun reference is just sloppy writing. Most people would send the "it" reference back to the noun Zion, although the Twins are right about it technically connecting to the abstraction "Denial".

Eliminating "Denial" of course means the perpetuation of the virtual world of the Matrix. If Denial is eliminated, the virtual world becomes the only world possible. Resistance will not just be futile, it will not even be thought of.

No, proper grammar demands that the pronoun "it" refers back to the proper subject of the discussion. Viz a viz, you must read the Architect's previous statement, in which he clearly is referring to ZION, to know that "this will be the 6th time we have destroyed it" refers to Zion.

But the architect is a liar. He says that the reason for Neo being there is that Zion is about to be destroyed. This is false, as the opposite is true. Zion is about to be destroyed because Neo is there.

Zion in not going to be destroyed becuase Neo is there, it is the opposite....think of this.....if Zion was not about to be destroyed...what do you think would be happening? yes......you can answer yourself.....the rebelds would be freeing minds from the matrix one by one.....they would have all of their time to finish the job, thus as they have LIMITED TIME, they went to the ORACLE, she lead them to the KEYMAKER and he lead them to the ARCHITECT AND THE SOURCE. Therefore the architect is not liying.
Try and listen and anderstand the plot well.

I understand the plot as far as my brain allows me to. Please pay attention. As long as there is not found a new The One, Zion is allowed to expand. So the event that sparked the destruction of Zion is the finding of a new "The One". Neo is The One, and so he is the reason for Zion's destruction. By reaching the Architect he proves that he is the one (only The One can enter), and thereby the destruction will be executed. It was all timing from the Architect's side to put pressure on Neo.

Well, your point is very thoughtful and conciders many facts, but there's a glitch on it. I have a question; How do you think it came to Neo's mind to go to the Orcale instead of just keeping freeing minds in the matrix? What persuaded him to go to her and finally got him with the Architect?
You know the answer, just as I did.....Because Zion is about to get destroyed, yes it is about to get destroyed becuase they found the One, but so is he there(in the source) becuase Zion is about to be destroyed.

Perhaps there is the fine art of convincing going on here, he was initially taken to the Oracle by Morpheus, he did not go himself. She told him all the things he needed to hear, then he wqs convinced of her worth because of the things that were told to Trin and Morpheus. He trusts the Oracle to give him advice and to guide him or point him in the right direction ~ I emphasise guide, because that is what she is...

Agent Smith, but he went to the Oracle not only because he stablished a attachment of trust, but becuase he needed to; he went the first time to the Oracle as you clearly put down, but it was till he knew and become the One. Afterwards he doesn't need her desesperatly, and in this case he went back to her becuase of the context; ZION WAS ABOUT TO GET DESTROYED.
