My theory. Neo is alive inside Oracle. That's why he phisically dies, and we see the Oracle in the rainy-cratervafter neoxsmith fight. His mind is part of Oracle's mind now.

I know I've brought this back from a long time ago, but this is a very interesting point. We see the Oracle layed in the ditch at the end of Revolutions, but we don't actually know if she has returned from Neo's body...or Smith's body. Remember, Smith copied himself onto Neo, this makes Neo Smith which makes Neo the Oracle also. After Smith copied himself onto Neo, this would make Neo the most powerful Smith. He would have his own ability, Smith's ability and the Oracle's ability. Therefore, the Oracle may have copied onto Neo also because at the end of the day, all the Smith's where the same person. Hence, we don't know whether the Oracle returned from Smith's body or Neo's copied body? Hm...thoughts?

I'm not so sure about that, I still think that the Smith that took over the Oracle is the one who has her power of foresight, I don't think that if Oracle-Smith where to take over more people they too would have that power. True, the Neo-Smith would be very powerful, but I don't think he would be able to see the future.

I think Neo has become the Atman of the Matrix- it's unified soul. So in some way he lives on in everyone.

The Smith that Neo was fighting was the current Uber Smith, is you regard the Oracle as being fairly powerful. This was the 'Main' Smith so to speak, though I would guess that every Smith shared the same foresight etc, as they are many of one after all.

When the two halves - Neo and Smith unite and become one and connect with the source. they are both killed in Body and mind (well, smith..deleted). That is why you dont see the Body of Neo, as he is not 100% gone from the matrix, as is Smith. In spirit, we do see that Neo remains as he is carried away.

Another clue that the Oracle was smith, is the fact that smith does posess her forsight - 'Wait a minute, Ive seen this. Yes this is is this is the end'

I think that after the oracle became a Smith, that was the only Smith who could see into the future.

Interesting thing about those cookies that rarely gets noticed. The Oracle (the usually infallible fortune teller) said that she had hoped to have them ready by the time Neo came to see her. It's the only time in the films we see her mistaken about an event in the future.

And then more shockingly, the cookies are ready when Smith gets there. Tells you a lot about the relationship between Neo and Smith!

The cookies are never done before Neo arrives.

Check out M1.

This scene is something that should reveal more about her and what she is unable to foresee and why.

But in M1, the cookies are still oven fresh, "Almost done," she says, not even turning to look back at him because she knows just who it is.

But in Revolutions, she had planned for them to be done when Neo arrives, but they aren't even close. However, Smith points out when he arrives that the Oracle must have made those cookies deliberately, purposefully... she did, just not for the visitor that receives them.

Neo and Smith's fates are so intertwined, she's having problems telling them apart?

She hands a bowl of batter to Sati and tells her to take them to Seraph to see if they're ready while Neo is there. That's something to take notice of in itself.

In M1, Neo is told the Oracle will see him now. Only when he goes in, he hears, "...be right with you."

From the Matrix Revolutions script (matrix-explained.com...):

She has never had them entirely ready. Meaning, she never really knew for certain how everything would work out.

it's true the cookies are never done when neo is there but they are far less ready in m3 i think this means the path for the oracle is less clear or just the fact that she is less sure of her choice

notice that when smith arrives the cookies are done hence she has made her choice

so basicaly she has not made her choice when neo is there but has when smith is there

i also have a thought on why she let smith assimilate her

smith looses his confidence in the crater after he sees neo on the ground he hesitiates and says everything that has a begining has an end then he regains control and asks what he just said

now he is afraid and neo rises

i think this lets neo know that the oracle has some power over smith and that it is safe to let smith assimilate neo remember that he couldn't in m2 i think the fact that he can now is more because neo chooses to let him based on guidence from the oracle than the fact that smith is stronger
