[Matrix Reloaded]
Neo: "So we need machines and they need us. Is that your point, Councillor?"
Councillor Hamann: "No, no point. Old men like me don't bother with making points. There's no point."
Neo: "Is that why there are no young men on the Council?"
Councillor Hamann: "Good point."

I once wrote here that I wouldn't like to see Matrix 4.
However, I think that all of US (The Architects Loyal Subjects) should sit down and write Matrix 4 ourselves, I mean we all wrote a damn good version of Revolutions.... Very Happy

Well, just to say, I havent seen rev yet so I want to make some comments from this point of view.

Firstly, everyone wanted answers on everything. Think about it. No matrix movie has ended in answers. In the matrix, neo has a phone conversation, we see system crash, what hapenned, did he show the people what the matrix didnt want them to see? We all know that if he did, they would have turned into agents. Reloaded left that unanswered, how did the matrix crash, it certainly didnt kill anyone. We see Neo stop the sentinels. How? All the focus on 6th Neo... I didnt for one moment expect that the W bros will concretely answer anything. Thats the idea of these movies, to make you think and DREAM, so we can get away from the messy world we live in (Zion).

Secondly, seeing a matrix 4 would really surprise me. It was made to be a trilogy and nothing more. You guys want to make up stuff, think of something different. Dont extend that which has been done already.

So, Ill make my critics on rev as soon as I see it. Whatever it turns out, godfather will still be my favourite trilogy.

The Matrix is no more a trilogy than the Lord of the Rings. Both are stories with lots of extensions or modules attached. That's surely a blueprint for corporate profiteering at the expense of creative vision. But I get this nagging feeling the story wasn't quite finished. That's not the same as wishing to have everything "explained" because at the core of it all is a mysticism retold for our times -- some things just can't be explained or shouldn't be. My guess is that if M4 is to be made, probably years from now, the theme would have to be the co-evolution of "machine" and humans. That's nothing new (but then the Matrix is just a hack of old things, a good hack), so it'll need a few twists to stay fresh, probably with a new set of characters and references to the triology. At this point my guess is the W. Brother & Sister-to-be haven't fully understood the choice they made, so they ended it there.

Regardless M1 will probably never be surpassed. I still remember the shock of Neo's second birth, post Red Pilll....

How about a prequel or however u spell it.

Although after seeing revelutions my very firts thought was i bet there will be another one in like decades to come like how they did with starwars. Revelutions ended how it did for a reaon, to leave u still asking questions and make up your own interpretation. There is no reason for a fourth. However i have to admitt that if they made a movie along the lines of the animatirx episode where it has the battle between the machines and humans in the real world. It would be mad.[/b]

that is a really good idea. a prequel would rock. dunno what it would be about (it's kinda been covered in Animatrix).
make prequel from another reload (I aint seen revolutions yet so don't tell me anything)

I don't know -- the Animatrix tells pretty much the whole arc. Without the Matrix, it'd just be another Terminator doomsday scenario. Probably a good action flick but would lack the mythology.

Would love to see more anime of Animatrix quality to fill in some blanks. What'd you think?

Yes -- the Tatoo Chick as a female Agent, endlessly replicating, taking over the world....that should excite.

I think prequels would be an excellent idea, much better than a Matrix 4.

Hmmm... an interesting concept to grasp. Matrix 4 will have to cover A LOT and i mean a lot of answered that the W brothers left us pondering about.
Would it be good? I doubt it. What would it be based on? A prequel sounds much better....i would like to see more of Neo's so called "Hacking" as well as more on "The One' before Neo. It's a lot. And as previously stated, The Matrix trilogy might be extended at all, it's juat maybe left in that way to make us DREAM and think,.

I'll say this...the W bothers did one hell of a job in making the Matrix fans think and dream cause everyday of my life after seeing the movies all i can think about is what happens to the humans and what will become of them. Who knows, maybe the machine didnt keep their word and killed all the humans?

Every code can be cracked, every system accessed, any program exploited. --Me

It does seem that we do have a common interest in seeing prequels..
It would be interesting to see the very first Matrix and everything that went so desparately wrong with the first and the emergence of the anomaly.... I think it would answer many questions that have been left unanswered.... Cool

I refuse to buy anything matrix-related again. If there was a prequel... it would have nothing it could possibly add. The first one should have stood alone. It, in and of itself, was one of the best action movies. However, the three movies together hardly qualify as one of the best trilogies. The trilogy aspect was a money-making scam. The Wachowskis showed us that they were out of any good ideas. What makes you guys think that there could be something new and exciting in another movie?

The main reason people find Reloaded and Revolutions any good is because they are reminded of how cool and innovative the first movie was. However, when considered separate entities, neither Reloaded, nor Revolutions can be considered anything more than "decent" movies.

Without intolerance, there can be no justice. Without justice, there can be no peace.

I think a prequel would be a horrible movie... it would backfire just like the new star wars trilogy...

We cannot determine the consequenses of how a prequel will be because of our opinions on the last two films. George Lucas and the W brothers are both different writers with different ways and styles of making films. Star Wars and Matrix are two totally different movies so one cannot pre-judge the outcome of a prequel without first hearing the ideas. But hey we are all able to have our own opinions....
Its true that MOST prequels are not as successful, but i feel different about a matrix one. We all have ideas and who knows....maybe we might be the ones who actually write it. 3Tooth

the first matrix was perfect! the machines made it a utopia for us, thats why we didnt accept it! i dont think the first matrix was even modelled after a late 90's civilization. i dont think the civilization was programmed until the later version(s). so maybe the first matrix was kind of like heaven.. with lots of fluffy clouds. i see lots of virgin playboy models running around desperately looking for a good time. i also see the architect looking alot like jesus. He hangs out with me and my buddies and we smoke up a bowl as we watch reruns of duke.. (isnt EVERYTHING on TV a rerun in the matrix? but whatever) and we will dance around a fire (or fly, whatever u choose to do) as we hold hands in harmony.

as we all know, everything is about "choice". for example, in M1, mr. rheinheart (boss of neo) says:

- you have a problem with authority mr.anderson. you believe that you're special, somehow the rules do not apply to you. obviously, you are mistaken.

and adds:

- this company is one of top software companies in the world because every single employee understands that they are a part of the whole. thus, if an employee has a problem, the company has a problem.

final words:

- the time has come to make a CHOICE mr.anderson. either you CHOOSE to be at your desk on time from this day forth, or you CHOOSE to find yourself another job.

I'd like to see how machines took over control. yes i know this been covered in animatrix -- second rennaisance, but think about it, man fights with machines, all those scenes in animatrix will be real, street clashes to burning the sky. this would be pure action and i think i'd love this thinking of the million questions asked in the trilogy. i'd love to see a pure action matrix movie, knowing that it's all about action, nothing more..
