Link between Matrix and the terminator series?

I am under the belief that if you had the right people writing the script and the right people directing it, you could tie the matrix and the terminator series together.
There are several aspects that the movies have in common. Like the matrix in a matrix; one system built on top of another, if one fails, they all fail. The machines from the future? just a program to help you believe that a machine is sent from the future to kill you, then protect you. Like in T3, the Terminatrix made it abundantly clear that John Connor had lieutenants in his "army" (it's not the US army, but it is a "rebel force". Zion's soldiers are rebels that broke free from control of the machines). In the real world (matrix), the humans scorched the sky. Without the sunlight, the machines would have no energy source as abundant as the sun. I dont recall seeing any battles in the future during daylight. It all happened when it was dark out. The architect? SkyNet's simulation of itself (as a god) in a digital world (already inside a digital world; a matrix within a matrix; a sytem built on top of another system)
Like i said, this idea is just something i have been "kicking around the office". If there were a great group of people working on this project, it be done.

It is possible this connection because in Animatrix Second Renaissance because robots are manipulating humans and are sending feelings to humans neural system, you can see there is a human crying and then happy, that means that a happy body produces more energy, thats medically proven.
You said that Terminator robots wants to exterminate human, of course they want, but, when they have problems with energy resources, they uses human bodies as batteries. Then they learn that human body produces energy (more if its happy and confortable) and some kind of distributed system (as SETI proyect) using each brain as a processor for runing a higher level system (The Matrix)
Its like having a happy hamster runing all day, if the hamster is not happy then it will not run
Conclusion, machines are not good or bad, its only the wish to survive[/quote]

The Matrix and Terminator trilogies only have one real common idea. That machines take over the world. Everything else is way different. For one thing in the matrix the skies were scortched but Kyle Rease in T1 clearly states-while reminising on the good old days of the future- that people had to stay down by day ,but could move around at night. The only reason for that would be sunrise sunset. Another thing is the whole ground war thing. All the future battles depicted in the terminator series are fought by soldiers on the ground with lasers and plasma rifles and such. In the matrix trilogy the only fighting the rebels do outside of sion is with their emp's and even on their own turf they use the apu's that use bullets. The last thing I would like to touch base on is the time travel thing that the whole storyline of the terminator relies on. Nowhere in any of the matrix movies is time travel mentioned. If the machines had time travel tech, then why wouldn't they just go back in time and kill neo or something like that. There's many more obvious termonator and Matrix difs, but besides having so many differences, no other movie series is more like the matrix than the terminator. Its lonley at the top. Its good to share it with another trilogy even if it isn't as good as the matrix. Peace out!

So you're saying they're connected because the robots in Therminator could maybe think about wanting to be the robots from the Matrix? Like the other guy said, time travel.

Flip a coin. Choose heads or tails but, if you knew every variable, there would be no choice, only an answer. That is how the Architect works.

not so much an amalgamation more like a prequal.
I Robot, much like in the animatrix where a robot goes wrong.
that film expands the "historical" data for the Matrix

Im sure this is the only place where i can safely say machines may one day inherit the earth without getting called crazy....maybey not so much kill us all but you never know. I suspect we will create machine with AI thats just unimaginable (saying this by looking at the robots we have created so far its only gona get better and more advance) and hopefully live sideby side with the machines. The matrix is an excellent movie with an even better theory that makes me question existence....
Any comments about the machines and there co existence with humans please

here it is. Keanu Reeves and Arnold shake hands and through some magical spectacle the sky clears and suddenly all the machines die. The fillers in the movie are smith stretching and the oracle drinking tea while the t-1000 waits on them because the oracle and smith are working together, though they don't really care and are only doing it for kicks. Morphius goes crazy but trinity comes back from the dead and saves him, then quickly dies again. This is all held together by clever hollywood mind games. Everyone sees the movie and then goes on the internet and raves, while we, knowing that matrix-explained's time is over, start a variety of websites including "people-explained.com"
