At the end of m1 when Smith is fighting Neo at the subway station he says:

"You hear that Mr.Andersson? That is the sound of inevitability(spelling?). It's the sound of your death."

Now at the end of m3 when Smith is fightning Neo, Neo says this:

- "What are u afraid of?
- "It's a trick!" (Smith)
- "You were right Smith, you were always right. It was inevitable"

After that Smith "takes over" Neo and then the arguable discussion about whether he died or not arises. But doesnt this kinda clarify that he DID die?

Comments are appreciated : )

No, i dont think it clarifys that he did die, i strongly believe that the only way for the war to be ended and anything to be saved(and i've always had this theory from the start) was that neo had to accept who he was and what he has to do, which is sacrifice himself(one of the hardest things for a human being to do, which is why none of the other ones succeeded), i think that neo saying that was just him confirming to smith that he accepted that he THOUGHT he needed to sacrifice himself to win, i think he accepted it and that that was what he was supposed to do, but whether or not he physically died from this sacrifice is unknown, THE SACRIFICE MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN HIS LIFE it could have been something else, he could have had to sacrifice his freedom by fully inserting his mind and RSI into the matrix, which happend after smith absorbed him.

LoL, First time im on this forum and I hjust had to register cuz somethings i read where just like complete nonsense imo...

Of course you Neo can be compared with jesus. So he had to die because Jesus died. First thing i don`t think Neo should be campored with jesus. He brings peace not by releasing fate but by makeing a truce and talking directly to the enemy. Jesus was just haveing fun drinking whine (hehe) and talking.

second The matrix is about Balance. why does Smith get so strong? Because they are connected. When Neo destroyed him from within. He freed him from his master. And now matched Neo. Neo just got stronger and stronger and Smith balnced the universe by getting so strong to. in the fights in matrix2 you can see they match exactly and in the end-fight both got much stronger and you can see them still match. They are the opposite. like a Magnet. Neo + pole and Smith - pole. When happens when je combine + and - They "dissapear". There is nothing left of it, it becomes neutral. So when Smith dies Neo has to die to else the balance is lost. And thats the reason why neo had to die.

This argument here that Neo was or wasn't the one, and how he could be if his predecessors were also, and why they didn't fulfill the prophecy, all this is answered in the trilogy.

1, Neo was the one, as were his predecessors. That is, each of them were the "anamoly" the architect tried painstakingly to correct mathematically, which he could not.

2 Those who were the previous "one", from the perspective the true purpose of the prophecy, did in fact fulfill said prophecy. That is, there was no real prophecy. It was a set up, designed to control the one, which gave them real control of Zion. Which was something they had to do, based on past experiences.

So what Neo did, was fulfill a prophecy, that was not a prophecy at all. The others chose to spare Zion by doing as they were told when they learned the truth about the "prophecy". Neo chose otherwise, and his "choices" (which is what the movie is about), led him to success when he refused to give up!

although, just as they stated at the end Revolutions... peace wasn't meant to last. Although Neo did what he knew he had to and achieved peace once, the war is back, Zion has been destroyed... AGAIN. Still always hope of course, instead there are now 2 Zion's and newcomers to the plot and there's most definatley more to worry about than just 01 or Zion.

Do any of you think the brothers would pursue another movie to addon to the existing trilogy as a continuation or make another series explaining the other six or just one of the other six "one's"?
