Male and female principles

Whatever the Orcale is, she represents the female principle: She doesn't tell Neo what to do. Neo doesn't even really know what to do with her words. She speaks of feelings. That he has already chosen (the idea of having chosen). She wears casual clothes, and she is very motherly, isn't she?

On the other hand the arcitect represents the male principle. He is very correctly dressed, with a white beard (looks a bit like Sigmund Freund, doesn't he?) and he doesn't talk around thing - he give Neo a clear choice: Right or Left

So The Architect and The Oracle are hyperintelligent aliens trying to give Neo a cool childhood in a postapocalyptic world.

This actually matches into some of my religious views, see my definitions of The God and The Goddess at members.tgworld.org... (which is actually part of a critique of a Student Conference gone wrong.

Basically the feminine principle is all about cycles, growth and change, whereas the male principle (which also includes NEO) is about limits, boundaries, and transcending them.

Just another layer to the films I guess. Laughing

[It never occurred to me that these two represented the male/female principles. I do, however think this adds a whole new dimension...thanks...

The idea of the male/female becoming the androgyne is central to Egyptian Inner Alchemy, which may or may not have been discussed here already. I'm sure if I go back through the posts I'll find where this has been discussed in relation to Neo and Trinity?
