Well the Oracle is protected the whole time, so I don't really know what you are talking about. He has beaten Smith and can keep up with Neo, and that's not too shabby.

You know I have been thinking that thought many times too.

Many people would consider that you are cursing with such a statement, but it is a good perspective.

The Oracle is the program with the best knowledge, because besides emotions and psychological issues she also understands human intuition. She is the most 'evolved' program that understands humans the most and with this knowledge she is indeed able to manipulate humans to the bone I think.
She knows that humans appreciate free will, that's why she makes them believe that she can't make them do anything ("I can't make you do anything" to Niobe in "Enter the Matrix"). But indirectly she makes the humans do exactly what she wants them to do.

All this doesn't have to mean she has taken a side or something. She is not pro machine or pro human, she is pro future. With her plan everyone/everything gets the best solution possible.

This is why the Merovingian hates her so much, they are both manipulators and traffickers of information. The oracle however gives it freely and tries to encourage mankind rather than force its hand, causing such animosity between them.

Yeah and the Oracle probably caused that the Merovingian was up for deletion. She said it herself in the park, that when a program gets replaced by a better one it either returns to the Source or hides in the Matrix.

That's why indeed the Merovingian hates the Oracle so much. She is the only one that stands above him in power concering the internal workings of the Matrix.

She also helped Neo steal the Keymaker from under his nose, making a fool out of him.

I definately agree with your statements on the Oracle (she rocks! So cool, I love the Oracle) and I don't think she "makes" anyone do anything, but she tells everyone 'exactly what they need to hear" and definately guides both humans and machines towards peace, which is achieved.

BUT how can Seraph suck? Seraph kicks ass! He's my fav character in the Matrix...

I think he does an AWEOSME job as a guardian/bodyguard for the Oracle. She has so many enemies, such as the Merovingian, and Seraph has protected her "for years" she says and she's been ok. Her whole losing her shell was her choice, not the result of Seraph not protecting her correctly.

And sorry, but if Smith is "Neo's opposite and negative" then he's EQUAL in power to Neo... and the only one who can stop Smith is Neo himself, so I think Seraph probably fought hard to protect Sati and himself from becoming Smiths, but he couldn't succeed, since he isn't Neo.
