From Enter the Matrix (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/enter_the_matrix_plot.txt)

Ghost : Can you tell me what happened to you?
Oracle : Two programs that I trusted sold the termination code of my original shell to the Merovingian.
Ghost : Why did they do that?
Oracle : For love. For the life of their child.
Ghost : You knew about it, and yet you let it happen?
Oracle : I had to.
Ghost : Why?
Oracle : Because the child is important. I can't tell you why, but I believe one day, the child will change both our world and your world forever.

The prophecy was that The One, would return, and that the return of The One would hail, the destruction of the Matrix and end the war. What Morpheus says it this:

"When the Matrix was first built, there was a MAN born INSIDE who had the ability to change whatever he wanted, to remake the Matrix as he saw fit. It was he who freed the first of us, taught us the truth. As long as the Matrix exists the human race will never be free. After he died the Oracle prophesied his return and that his coming would hail the destruction of the Matrix and the war, bring freedom to our people. That is why there are those of us who have spent our entire lives searching the Matrix looking for him. I did what I did because I believe that search is over....

Notice how he says that this reborn MAN would bring the end of the war. He never says that the One would be the person to end the war... Just that the comming of this man signals the end.

This confuses me, as i consider Sati to be more similar to the original One in terms of power.. her ability to "change...remake the Matrix" proves this. [sunset at the end of Revolutions]

The real question should be.. what is Neo?

Sati means the "Pure One" [in hindu, i believe] then what exactly is Neo? He has amazing ability, yet he cannot remake the Matrix like the One can. Is he nothing more than a tool or device made to bring about the comming of the true One?

At the end of Revs, The oracle asked Sati if she had made the sunrise, and she told the Oracle that she had done it for Neo...Does this make Sati a new One, a new Oracle or a new Architect - this is one thing I'm unsure about - HELP!

So what were witnessing is an EVOLUTION an UNDERSTANDING and ACCEPTANCE, the Machines have undergone some sort of learning process... I'm so happy about this as it means my thesis is right on track!

Yes, the matrix has evolved from being a prison into being a meeting place for two races. The colour becomes brighter and the machines add nice touches to it to make it a better place. Machines likewise evolve from their purpose driven lifestyles into free, innocent lifestyles. Sati is one of these new machines, a reason that she is so important. Only her sort can influence the machine race for the better.

I was taking Smith calling the Oracle "mom" as just saying it because she is supposedly the mother of the matrix. But it's true, that could be the Seraph-Smith and the Oracle could be the "mother" of Seraph.

ok, here is my take.

The girl is the one. She has the ability to change the Matrix - i.e. the sky/sunrise. That is what she is being looked after by the Oracle.

Neo was not the one. If you remember, in the first movie the oracle tells him he is not the one. He is simply a tool to create peace.

Well.. yeah, those are my thoughts

Oracle: sorry kid, YOU"VE GOT THE GIFT...but it looks like you're waiting for something. Your next life maybe...

She does of course NOT say he isn't the one...she says that he IS the one but he's waiting for something...after he dies he becomes the one.

p.s. this is a common misconception

OK guys, I watched M3 again last night, and I paid close attention to Sati since I've read many posts in this forum. When Neo first opens his eyes to look at Sati, there is a halo around her head! It's really faint, but I assure you it's there. Sati has got to be the messiah, or atleast the 7th one.

Second, in the scene with the Oracle and Smiths, the Oracle asked Smith (the first one in the room) what he did with Sati, then he turns to look at the Smith to his left, who repeats the phrase "cookies need love," or something like that, to show that he knows about her and Sati's conversation as he possessed her, and they all start laughing. Then the Oracle looks back to the first Smith and calls him a bastard and that Smith referrs to her as Mom. It couldn't have been Sati who called her mom, because the Smith that said that was not the one who had possessed Sati. It could still be that that smith was Seraph, but there is really nothing that supports it other than gross speculation.

The Oracle calls Smith a bastard.

Smith retorts by calling her "Mom," implying she's a whore. It's an insult, pure and simple.

Well said Silvercat! Thumbup It was not too long ago that if you were a redpill and in the Matrix an Agent would run after you and try to blow your head off. But now it is much friendlier. Agents and humans that are on their side co-exist peacefully. Now we see humans hunting humans and such more instead of Agents hunting humans. Machines and Humans are more of friends now YAY! ::sigh::. Cool I still wonder what Sati is going to do in the future.

::grumbles:: Now if I could have a computer that is powerful enough to meet all the requirements that the Matrix Online [MXO] needs. Neutral I would meet Agent Gray and then go find some Rebels to kill. Woot Woot!

Rebel: I am trying to save the human race!

Me:People like YOU are the ones who started this mess. Ever watch the Animatrix?

Rebel:What?

I do not have an answer to what role does Sati Play in the Matrix. But here is some info.

Click and double-click to resize image

Lord Shiva is shown carrying his trident and the small hand-drum or dumroo along with it. He carries a divine snake around his neck and the moon on his head. His attire comprises a tiger-skin worn on his body and armlets and bracelets of Rudraksha beads. The third-eye on his forehead, like his other two eyes remains closed. He is carrying the dead body of his beloved wife Sati, who went to her parental home to attend the yagna, performed by her father Daksha. Daksha invited all the Gods and Goddesses except Shiva, his son in law. During the yagna, Daksha insulted Shiva in presence of Sati. Sati could not bear the insults and plunged into the pyre of the yagna and emolated herself. Shiva got enraged and killed Daksha, took the dead body of Sati on his shoulder and moved round the universe destroying everything on his way.To save the world, Lord Vishnu cut the body of Sati into fifty one pieces with his chakra. The places where these fifty one pieces fell became Sati peeth, the sacred places where hindus built temples.

All Programs in the Matrix have to have a purpose or a particular function.

Sati does not have an assigned function so she can do anything she wants.

So she makes a sunrise.
