I don't know but it looks like they have changed the directors after Reloaded. Revolutions looks really like a cheap (except for the fighting scenes) add-on to Reloaded. Similar to "Terminator 3".

I have an idea what happened: As you know the Wachowskis stole the script from the writer Sophia Stewart. Maybe they stole it only up to the moment where Neo stops the sentinels.

They could have made a more interesting movie with a philosophical point of view, but that would have made them loose alot in income. They choosed to show The Kid reloading Mifune or Niobe driving like a god instead of the Merovingian and Persephone explaining their life and purpose.

You are right - what happened to all those cool camera angles from the first movie? Remember the Lobby Gun scene? It had that anime/John Woo style of filming and it was totally lost here. In fact, there was very little kung-fu at all and NO bullet time except for some basic Buffy/Angel slow-mo's.
