What a great ending, I'm already looking forward to Matrix Online.
I think my favourite scene in the film was the final fight with Agent Smith.

Actually can't figure out what the mission in Matrix Online is going to be.
Is it really just going to be peace, love and harmony, guess not.
I just hope it won't be something with Agent Smith being reborn
or something silly like that Very Happy .

i read somewhere that there are hordes of neos so neo must come back also the oracle hints at this maybe the reason of the matrix is to keep normal people happy with a normal world while the "special people" learn and play and other stuff in the matrix testing their abilities and eventualy another "ONE" will appear and maybe the humans and machines will find a way to clear the sky...
Hey! maybe the program girl has the key to clear the sky then the machines will be able to use solar power so the matrix will be irellivant and shut down so then the programs will "return to the source" but they dont want to and take the girl and hide her the the mission will be to fight the progams to reach the girl.
the end of revelutions makes this fit as the girl makes a sunrise for neo.

Any opinions?

If anybody but UberSoft was making it I would be psyched, they are one of the worst game producers I know (and I play most games out there). ETM was atrocious and I don't expect this to be much better, IMHO.

The fact that there is still a game to be played leads into the question, How is the Architect not lying when he says he'll release all the humans? How exactly does he plan on doing that, as he insists he is incapable of lying? If he's not lying and they work out the logistics of waking up 6 billion people (at least) why is there still a Matrix for the game setting?

I think I have more questions today than I did 6 months ago Razz

If I recall correctly, the Architect told the Oracle that he would give the option to the humans of being freed.

Secondly, there's no way to know how many people are in pods. If you're assuming today's population, then that's a bad guess. There was a huge war, so I'm sure many people died. Plus, the people in the pods aren't the same people as today. Those people died long ago, and have been replaced by"fresh" humans, grown by the machines themselves. There's only enough people to sustain the machines' energy demands.

UbiSoft is the publishers, not the developers.

I also agree that Enter the Matrix Sucked, but it was Shiny who did that game.
UbiSoft isn't the game developer they're just the publishers of the game, Monolith is the game Developers and I think they have plenty of skills.

Given a choice of Matrix or Zion, how many Cyphers do you think there are in the world? Especially when they find out they've been tricked their whole lives, many will have some anger at the machines and will want to see what they've been denied just on principle.

As for numbers, I haven't read any detailed discussion about "how many humans are in the matrix", but they would need a human for almost every human in every city, minus what they want to simulate, but the more simulated humans they run the more real ones they need to power it. We did see the "endless fields" of fresh crops and one edge of a huge cluster of adult human towers, who knows how far back those towers go. They do have to power the whole farming and maintenance operation, all of 01 which seems to be lit up like christmas, and whatever else of the world or others they might be controlling. They could even keep multiple instances of the Matrix running and have trillions of humans in a huge power block that only takes up a continent or so of dry land.

The game, the movie..

First off: The game is going to be about Morpheus and Niobe. Those are atleast the characters it focuses around - and obviously it will take place in the Matrix. It's supposed to be a bigger multiplayer online thing than anything else - so the storyline will probably be poor.

Secondly: There are several ways to go with keeping the Matrix alive and growing, even after releasing humans. And the Architects response to the Oracle at the end:
Oracle: "I have your word..?"
Architect: "What do you think I am, human?"
*That does not have to mean he is incapable of lying* It probably means, why waste time giving petty words of promise when he is much more "superior" than that. To resort to meaningless pacts, pinky swears, etc. would make him seem weak - and after Reloaded, we know he has no intention of seeming weak.

Finally: What's the deal with all the complaints on the movie? That it doesn't answer anything? Last time I checked, trilogies weren't based off fans letters and questions.. Did anyone send the brothers letters with questions? I mean, even so, if I was them I'd offer a website with answers - but would NOT change a multimillion dollar movie, the third and final chapter, so my fans questions were taken care of. It ended how it needed to, and despite the fact that I don't like how it ended - it's too bad, because it's over.

To the guest above: You're absolutly right. I agree I would've liked a slightly different ending but, as you said, now it's over it's over.
To burnt: You're absolutely right also, Enter the Matrix was (apart from the cut scenes) a bunch of wank. Lets hope the Matix Online doesn't fall into the same pot hole. Hopefully with a different developer it won't. Fingers crossed.

the W bros wrote the ETM game, in the sense that they wrote the story and directed what you could do in an overall view. The problem for me was the game felt not even close to ready for release. The first version had tons of bugs that had to be fixed with online patches too, I never played the console game just PC. The textures were much lower quality than I expected, the models were very blocky for everything, the AI was almost nonexistant, and it was overall not that fun.

I went into that game expecting a lot so I was very let down, if you just want to see the extra footage, being able to play as Niobe and Ghost might be a nice bonus. That's the only thing that kept that game on my hard drive for more than a week was being able to see the movie footage they should have included on a DVD somewhere. That, and there's a kind of sub-game you can play where you hack a computer system, success opens up the ability to see images and footage from the game without playing it.

I know some reviewers agree with me but it's your choice for sure, for console users I would say it's a solid rental from your video store, check it out before you plunk down $40 for a few minutes of new footage hidden in a bad game.

i think the w bros should have visited this site b4 making m3 there are tons of better ideas on this site than in the film so i think with all the discusion about online well end up with a game we dont like because we have already thought up better ideas

it was too short it was too easy and it was generally rubbish

the game play left no room for personal skill as the moves were executed far to easily

i did like the merovingians mansion and the smith chase levels though

yeah. i agree..

BUT

you know what they were TRYING to do was a GREAT idea.

i just dont think they had the time/devolpers and money to make a game that they "wanted." and as most people do when faced with a deadline they say "good enough and give me that moneybag."

if it were me though i would have made the fighting engine like say a streetfighter game or something like that, and the driving like grand turismo and the exploration like say tombraider(tombraider with lots of fighting and mosters)

and now top it off with the cool cinima cut scenes like the ones they put in?
(IM not talking just the live acting ones.)
then that would be the GREATEST GAME EVER!

but we have to settle for a second rate version of it.

and frankly it wasnt that great.

but i thought it was good.

and as for the MATRIX ONLINE?

well it looks like a REHASH of what weve all already seen.

damnit GIVE US SOMETHING NEW!

havent they learned ANYTHING from the flop of the 3rd film?
havent they learned from the money they LOST?

GIVE US SOMETHING NEW!
(a new power or SOMETHING)

we are going to have to "earn" each power from the movies that weve already seen.

oh great were all going to have to "learn" how to do things weve already seen and then STOP when weve become SIMI-NEO's.(i say simi because we wont be able to do EVERYTHING)

and who knows how long its going to take to learn say 1 power.

and if Final fantasy online is any indication on how this one will be,(as far as how long it takes to do ANYTHING) i might as well hang myself right now.

if you goto

matrixonline.com...
it will show you what im talking about.

BTW you can QUOTE ME NOW!

if there is any PLOT to the matrixonline then it will end in a compromise

JUST LIKE THE MOVIES DID.

there will be NO clear victor either way.

WHY?

because NEITHER human faction is doing anything wrong. because there is no such thing as evil acts, there all mistakes an nothing more, so they shouldnt be punshed or burdend with a loss.

the w-bros believe this and this is how the plot will end.

-there- im a gene knee us.
